i finally got a new hp!
after sooo long
and thinking for soooo long.
spent a bomb.
$268 in addition to a new 2 yr contract

here it is:

i got the silver edition.

decided to buy this instead of Nokia 5800

although i do like 5800 much better.

because i seriously had enough of phones that fail me

again and again.

5800, being a touchscreen,

would NOT be able to withstand my abuse >.<

n i hope that E72,

would be able to work smoothly for 2 YEARS

with no problem.

*prays hard*

its sunday now.

come monday,

there's only 2 weeks left till school reopens.

but i still felt like hols have just started.

what happened:

to wanting to watch all the disney shows

to wanting to get my hands on the Disney soundtracks

to wanting to curl up in bed with a good book

(im reading John Grisham's The Appeal)

to wanting to people watch at a particular cafe

to wanting to meet and catch up with all my friends

to wanting to improve my fitness and be healthy

(i'm doing the direct opposite by not eating recently =X )

i found quite a good way to motivate myself.
just head down to Raffles Place,
stand in e middle of nowhere,
look up at all the towering buildings,
and feel as small as possible.

then the reminder will come.
that right now, i actually have a chance to do well
and be right there in one of the buildings
having a pretty good career.

the thing is,
i don't know what i want.
for the first time in my life.

be brave.

post exams sem1 reflections

i've been horrible this entire semester.
its time for a reflection.
especially since now the danger of me losing my double degree is so very real.
i think i've been a weakling this entire semester.
whining, complaining, crying non-stop.
what a baby.
i used to be able to take whatever life throws at me
and handle them myself.
what the hell happened?!!

Pride/vanity: the most dangerous and prevalent of all the deadly sins. refusal to accept advice from others about your deck

2 days without technology

i guess its true when they say that we've gotten too, far too reliant on technology.
my hp just totally died on me last night.
as in, SPOILED.
it cannot be switched on.
and during the rare occasions that it could,
it couldn't detect any network.
and to think i was still worried about not having battery to last till sat.
HAHAHA.
im eyeing Nokia 5800 now >.<

so i started my 2 days without technology.
because i have no hp.
and i didn't bring laptop back to hall.
but i guess its good for mugging.
the only chance that i get to use a computer is
in the seminar room occasionally.

but i just saw a fb msg that made me feel quite happy and warm
especially during this exam period =)

i told gan ying cheng before he went taiwan that i want pineapple tarts
know a very good shop but i cant rem the name! =(
i went to search for the paper where i wrote the name and address of the shop
need to tell him before he flies!

but sadly i didn't manage to do it in time.
and he just touched down today.
he said he got pineapple tarts for me =D
a word of casual mention only and he found it!
cos e shop he bought it from is E SHOP I WAS TALKING ABT

according to the news,
nicholas cage has been facing financial troubles
because of his manager.
to the extent that he has to sell his properties to raise money
to pay off his debts.
and apparently its still not enough.

BUT
johnny depp is coming to the rescue!
apparently, back then nicholas cage helped johnny depp
by introducing him to his current manager,
who then helped him develop his very successful career.
thus depp wants to repay the favour,
by being willing to OFFER nicholas cage CASH 
to bail him out.

if the above is true, i can only say,
its going to enhance depp's reputation and gain him more fans.
but i don't deny i myself went 'awwwwww..... so nice!'

Are you suffering from Facebook Addiction Disorder?

Got to know this recently. quite interesting. 

Due to the immense popularity of Facebook and it turning into an online social medium,
experts have coined this new term 'Facebook Addiction Disorder' to describe those who are addicted to FaceBook. It falls under the broad category of Internet Disorder.


To be diagnosed as having Facebook Addiction Disorder, a person must meet certain criteria.
At least 2 or 3 of the following 6 criteria must be present at any time during a 6-8 months period:

1. The first thing is tolerance. 
This refers to the need for increasing amounts of time on Facebook to achieve satisfaction and/or significantly diminished effect with continued use of the same amount of time. They often have multiple Facebook windows opened at any one time. 3 is usually a sign and over 5 you're helpless.

2. After reduction of Facebook use or cessation, it causes distress or impairs social, personal or occupational functioning such as wondering why your Vista is so fast and improved etc. These include anxiety; obsessive thinking about what is written on your wall on Facebook etc.

3. Important social or recreational activities are greatly reduced and or migrated to Facebook. Instead of sending an email you post a message on your friend’s page about canceling a lunch appointment. You now stop answering your phone call from your Mom and insist she should contact you through Facebook chat.

4. This is getting serious if you start kissing your girlfriend's home page or a VRML virtual walk through a park is your idea of a date.

5. Your bookmark takes 20 minutes just to scroll from top to bottom or 8 of 10 people in your friend's list you have no idea of who they are.

6. When you meet people you start introducing yourself by following "see you in Facebook" or your dog has its own Facebook profile. You invite anyone you've met and any notifications, messages and invites reward you with an unpredictable high, much like gambling.

story of a Boy and a Girl

heard this story over Yes 933 FM that day
its a love story.
a very very sad love story =(
here goes:

there was a Boy and a Girl

both of them met each other when they were still students

and both of them liked each other. immensely. 

but Boy was too timid to profess his love for her.

for many many years, he just hid at a corner watching her. 

caring for her silently. 

Girl was waiting for Boy.

and she waited for many many years. 

just for that 1 sentence from Boy, and she's his. 

but the story didn't end like this. 

Boy kept his feelings to himself

and Girl met someone else, 

whom she got married to. 

Boy lost hope, and just gave Girl his blessings. 

but a few years later, Girl got divorced from her unhappy marriage. 

Boy got to know about it, and decided to muster his courage and profess to her. 

having tasted the sense of loss once, he did not want to lose Girl again. 

so he bought flowers and went to her office one day.

Girl was on the phone, so he waited quietly behind her. 

as long as Girl turned around, he would profess.

but he heard this, 

" i have already done the booking for you dear. don't miss it!"

Boy was crestfallen, for he did not know of Girl's new love interest. 

Dejected, he turned to leave. 

and bumped into another girl. 

this girl had been his admirer for as long as he had been loving Girl. 

she saw the flowers in his hand, and said,

"are those for me?"

Boy, not wanting to waste the flowers, gave them to this Girl instead.

and they got together thereafter. 

things progressed and soon he proposed. 

one day, Boy bumped into Girl. 

Girl asked," why didn't you approach me that night?"

Boy was shocked. he did not know that Girl was aware of his presence. 

so he answered,"i overheard you on the phone and did  not want to disturb your conversation with your boyfriend."

Girl was shocked. 

she did not have a boyfriend. 

the 'dear' that she called, was her superior.

who is a very good friend of hers and the name 'dear',

was a nickname that she used fondly on him. 

calling him 'dear' was out of habit. 

Girl was still waiting for Boy to take initiative.  

and so, because Boy jumped to conclusions too eagerly,

because Boy was too afraid to profess, 

because Girl did not take the initiative to ask,

they missed each other.

for life. 

its quite sad when i first heard it over the radio.
somehow chong qing made it really sad.
(though i think ling zhi would be better >.<) 
but i think both Boy and Girl are stupid.
wait here and there.
whats e point.
but then sometimes we have to agree,
that life is like that.
